  1. I’m not sure if I “get” it or not but that subtle eww was definitely sent!

    I’m a fan of cosmology, but this line in the article has me totally confused:

    “Dr Vermesh also produced an earlier world first when he helped a woman give birth using an embryo frozen 12 years before. “

  2. well my “eww” was a reminder about a bunch phone calls and IM convos that I made last week vis-a-vis what I chose for the headline… no relation with the news story except the literal meaning of the two.
    I’d say bravo for science! And good luck to the happy family !
    “an earlier world first when he” … should be probably be … “an earlier ‘world’s first‘ when he” … ?
    At least I think so.

  5. Of course! …world’s first…! I am truly dense, I read that so many times to parse it and failed. Thanks for clarification, I forget sometimes how personal and self-referential blog posts can be. Thank you for the phone number but I don’t think my calling plan will allow international calls. I’ll keep trying to “get it” by reading.

  6. You could google search the phrase… in quotes… but don’t say I didn’t warn you.

    It concerns a certain … how should I put it … quality… that I guess … well… it’s ’special’… it’s the reason why I use to think I studied not in an intitue, but in an ‘institution’ … or a ‘facility’ so to speak.
