Assignment for Astrobiology: Our Neighbours In Space: Sol - Centauri system

We remember the Human race from their probes to their neighbour worlds, and the handful of their ‘outer space’ probes away from their star system. However, most of our data comes from the reception of their electromagnetic communication signals.

Our scientists surmise the majority of those would have been entertainment signals.

That in itself would have to be an indicator of the eventual decline of the entire race – the fact that leisure activities were performed by others for them, as they watched on, and that the majority of their communication was simply entertainment. Worse still, it is highly probable that it was passive, one way entertainment.

But we must start at the beginning.

What we know about humans comes mainly from their own self analyses. Our scientists have shown no inclination to go to the uncharted backwaters that the Sol system represents. And it is with good reason. With most active space-faring races achieving space travel only after a million years of sentience, they tend to be mature as their technological evolution parallels biological evolution. But the Human race sprung up from nowhere, had exponential growth, in every sense of the word, and died out just as quickly.

  1. Think of it as an Asimov tribute work.

  4. When talking about electromagnetic signals dont forget to mention the ‘om’ signals sent by Dr. Rakesh Roshan and later by his son Hritik Roshan through their homemade supercomputer.
This ‘om’ signal is said to contain all the frequencies of universe therefore more likely to be received by some distant alien race.
Although there are no official records, it is believed that a highly advanced race of space nomads (the jadus) came to know about human existance on earth when they received these ‘om’ signals.

  5. Yeah, and like, they were, like, totally awesome, and, like totally, you know, like that, I mean, you know, like, I mean, you know, like.

STFU. Please. The less said about the travesty that that movie was, the better. Even trying to mock it is an excercise in ‘pathetic dweebism’, more commonly called killing brain cells.
